Report on Town of Gravenhurst Zoning By-law meeting I attended a public meeting at the Opera house to discuss the proposed amendments to the Town of Gravenhurst Zoning by-law on Friday 20th November 2009. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the proposed amendments to the Town of Gravenhurst Zoning By-Law. These amendments are considered necessary to allow the Town to implement and enforce the official Town Plan recently approved by council. Details of the proposals and maps showing the zoning classifications can be seen on the town website at www.gravenhurst.ca I would encourage all Pine lake residents to visit this site and verify the zoning for their property. Several points have brought to the attention of the town, primarily the omission of the Jones’ property and the non classification of the Otto property both at the end of the second lake. The lands designated EP (Environmentally Protected) should not have changed from the previous maps neither should those designated OS (Open Space) The Town cannot dictate the use of Crown Land but it is anticipated that the designated OS use for such property will be respected.
